Oh hey, remember me?

Sorry for my long blog absence!  It's been crazy around here!  Here's a quick update of reminders and things going on.

• Still accepting payment for our spring dinner/social fundraiser on Friday.  Dinner seatings at 5:30 and 6:30, with the dance to follow.  It's a FAMILY event--not a drop off!! Please plan to attend!  You may also pay only $2 per person, and just come for the dance!  A note will come home about that today, as well as tickets that have already been purchased. 
• Giovanni's Spirit Day is Thursday.  Please plan to eat pizza and pasta ALL DAY LONG! :)
• We are still accepting orders for the YEARBOOK.  It's $13, and they will be delivered soon, so get your order in quickly! 
• Testing begins next week.  A hot pink note came home yesterday with lots of important testing-related information.  If you can donate a snack or item from our wish list, please return the bottom portion of that pink form ASAP!  THANKS to those who've already signed up.  You don't know how much we appreciate you!
• Midterms came home yesterday.  Please sign and return those when you can.

Tonight's homework is:

• Reading: Log; finish poem review if you didn't in class
• Math: Some groups need to finish a math review packet...they ARE ALLOWED to use a calculator, and should * the problems they use the calculator to solve.
• Spelling: worksheet due Thursday
• Daily Reviews this week are STRAIGHT MATH.  There will still be a quiz on Friday that will count for a math grade, and I know that some students could REALLY use a good grade to boost their midterm grade.  I'd study these nightly to ensure that students are ready!

Thursday, and Testing Dates!!!

Parents,

The Spring State Testing window will be May 8, 9, 10, 13, and 14.  Please avoid scheduling doctor’s appointments and dentist appointments on these days.  I understand that some of you have appointments that you have already set and they occur during the window.  I understand that can happen.  Your child will have a make-up to complete and that will happen outside of our classroom with another adult.  Your child will be allowed to resume testing upon his/her return beginning where the class is on that date.  Then, he/she will be pulled out individually to complete his/her make-up. 

So, if you have not yet scheduled appointments, please avoid those dates.   Students who begin and then leave DURING that portion of the test will NOT be permitted to finish it.

 

Here is tonight's homework:

• Reading: Log
• Study for SPELLING test
• Study for DR Quiz
• Some groups have a math worksheet on missing measurements to complete

• Math: finish perimeter worksheet front and back (perimeter: add all sides)

• Reading: Log; backside of last night's WB page (I think it's page 213?)
• Spelling: worksheet due Thursday
• Math: one group needs to finish the back side of our classwork today (4 questions)

Tomorrow is Music--don't forget your recorder if you took it home over Spring Break!

Monday

Welcome back!  Students did well getting back into routine today.  Here's tonight's homework:

• Reading: Log; finish wb page on vocabulary for this week's story Lost City
• Spelling: study words
• Math: some groups had to finish a worksheet making line plots

Also, if you'd like to order spring pictures or a yearbook, please take care of that asap.
