Test Score Release

Scott County Schools Assessment and Accountability Data

Kentucky Department of Education will release school/district accountability data Nov. 2.

A New Beginning for Assessment
Results of the new state assessment, administered at each school across the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the spring of 2012, are scheduled for release on Friday, November 2, 2012. A new beginning for schools and districts, it will be impossible to compare the new results with scores from previous years.
The new system, focused on college and career readiness standards, provides data using a score of 1 to 100 in five key areas: Achievement, Gap, Growth, College/Career Readiness and Graduation Rate. The old system, which solely focused on basic skills, allowed schools to score over 100. Changes in the new model make it impossible to compare this year’s results with prior years. The new scores establish a starting point to identify strengths and areas of growth.
What does this mean for my child?
To help parents understand the new system of accountability in preparation for the release of scores, Scott County Schools will provide a series of news releases distributed via e-communication and posted on the district website throughout the next week. This overview will explain the process for calculating scores for each of the five areas of accountability so that parents better understand how their child performed. We encourage all parents to work with their school to discuss their child’s strengths and areas of growth. Working together as a team, we will ensure all students are successful, college and career ready graduates.
